Why Detox With a Raw Food Diet?
Ever have one of those days when you don't want to get out of bed? You feel tired and listless and unenthusiastic about the day. You feel as though you have no energy, which leads to a lack of desire to do anything. You know you need to do something to break this cycle, but what?
One way to boost your metabolism is through a strict detox program that flushes toxins from your organs. For optimal results, one will normally stick to a specific program for seven to fourteen days, either eating a menu of uncooked fruits and vegetables and other natural foods like nuts and flax, or a fasting diet consisting of six glasses of a special lemonade detox concoction a day. While not designed for weight loss, such eating plans promote a healthier lifestyle and can kick start one's metabolism so weight loss becomes a goal.
Here we'll learn a bit more about two of the more popular detox regimens, the raw food detox diet and the lemonade detox.
The Raw Food Diet: With this program, all cooked foods are avoid and more alkaline foods are added to the menu. Citrus fruits with the pulp, unpeeled root vegetables, and almonds and cashews are consumed. Ingesting raw foods adds more nutrients to the bloodstream, and consequently promote improved renal and liver function.
The Lemonade Detox Diet: No foods are eaten at all during the period of this detox. Six times a day, you will drink a mixture of spring water, organic maple syrup, organic lemon juice, and a dash of cayenne pepper. The "lemonade" is filling enough to keep your body satisfied throughout the day; however, it is strongly recommended to check with your doctor before going on this plan. All ingredients in this beverage are designed to help cleanse your body and boost your metabolism.
Why Detox? If you have ever experienced that "clogged up" feeling, when it's difficult to use the bathroom or function without wanting to drop from exhaustion, you will want to consider some type of detox diet to improve your inner functions. When toxins invade your liver or kidney, you may not feel any pain but you'll certainly experience the effects of poor health. When you drink more water and increase your intake of alkaline foods and juices, you'll find it's easier to move, you'll feel less joint pain, and you'll experience fewer groggy mornings.
